1. General description
The vacuum contactor is a new power switch device developed since 60s, which has low voltage vacuum interrupter as the make-and-break component. lts conductive contact is sealed in the vacuum shell which has vacuum as the insulation and arc-extinguishing medium. Due to electric arc not exposed, it has features of safety and reliability, low noise, frequently operating, little maintenance, as well as small size and strong breaking capacity. Therefore, this product has been used widely in each power system.
VACJP series single-pole AC vacuum contactor (short as contactor) is used in the power circuit of AC 50 Hz, rated voltage 220 V, rated current 125A, 250A, and 400A. It is used for controlling welding machines, resistance switching of slip ring type asynchronous motor rotor circuit, heater, and lighting, which also can be used for remote making and breaking circuits.
2. Normal using condition
- Altitude: ≤2000 m;
- Ambient temperature: ≤+40℃, ≥ -25℃;
- Related humidity: monthly average maximum ≤90% (at monthly average minimum temperature 25℃);
- The slant angle between installation surface and the vertical surface is not more than 15°; installing class is class III;
- Places without intense impact, vibration, or shock;
- In the medium without explosion danger, gas or dust can erode metal and destroy insulation;
- Places away from rain and snow.
3. Operating principles
After control supply is powered on, armature of electromagnet drives square shaft to rotate plastic arm. At this time, moving contact of vacuum interrupter moves under the effect of vacuum sub-pressure to contact with fixed contact, to make main circuit power on. When power off, the electromagnet loses the excitation, under the effect of inverse force spring the armature drives plastic arm to pull dynamic conductive lever of vacuum interrupter to release conductive contact, and the main circuit is power off.
The control power supply is 220V and the bridge type rectifying. Armature moves to break NC auxiliary contact K, the circuit is in series with diode V1 and resistance R, and the electromagnet changes from moving to keeping
4. Installation and usage
The contact has been adjusted before delivery. Then users can use it directly without adjustment.
- Install screw M3, and fasten with anti-loosen spring gasket.
- Connect AC 220V to in-coming wire terminal, and connect the main circuit in-and-out wire to contactor.
- After connecting the control supply, operate the contactor with no-load several times; no any error, the contactor can be used.
