1. General description
   VACZ5 type indoor high voltage vacuum contactor is applicable to power system with AC tri-phase 50Hz, rated operating current 630 A, rated operating voltage of 12 kV and 7.2 kV, for remotely making and breaking circuit, and frequently starting load of control AC motor, transformer.
It also could be combined with high-voltage current-limiting fuses to inform combination unit, to put into high-voltage switchgear as set power distribution equipment.


2. Normal using conditions

  • Altitude:≤1000 m;
  • Ambient temperature:≤+40°C,≥-25℃;
  • Relative humidity: daily average≤95%; monthly average≤90%;
  • Water vapor pressure: daily average ≤2.2X 10-3 Mpa, monthly average≤1.8X 10-3 Mpa;
  • Earthquake intensity:≤8 M;
  • The slant degree between installation surface and vertical surface is not more than 5°
  • Places without fire, explosion, severe pollution, chemical corrosion and intense vibration, etc. If the above normal conditions can not meet the requirements, please consult with the manufacturer.


3. Structure and operating principles
a. Structure
   Contactor close keeping has two modes: mechanical keeping and electromagnetic keeping.
   Contactor is top-to-bottom layout and composed of vacuum interrupter, insulator, closing electromagnetic mechanism, mechanical locking device (used for mechanical keeping) and base.

b. Principles
   When get closing demand, Apply AC110V/220V power by bridge rectifier to the two ends of closing coil, the armature moves to rotate the fixed square shaft; crutch fixed on the square shaft pushes the insulator upward to drive the moving conductive lever of vacuum interrupter moving upward, so the contactor closing is completed; at the same time, compress the opening spring to store energy for preparing contactor opening. For mechanical keeping, closing-keeping is achieved by mechanical lock device; for electromagnetic keeping, long time closing-keeping is achieved by stringing the keeping coil into closing coil circuit.
When get opening demand, opening coil is power on, release the mechanical lock device (used for mechanical keeping), or keeping coil circuit is power off (used for electromagnetic keeping), the opening spring operates to release the armature, the square shaft drives conductive rod of vacuum interrupter move downward through crutch and insulator, so the contactor opening is completed.
